Privacy Policy
Staymark · operated by Jadthena Ltd, registered in England & Wales · Effective 4 October 2026 (formerly BorderDays)
1. Who we are
Staymark ("we", "us", "our") is a residency day-tracking app operated by Jadthena Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 is Jadthena Ltd.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at andy@andygannon.co.uk.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Staymark website or mobile app, including the free calculator pages, account sign-up, and the trip tracker.
3. What personal data we collect
- Account data — email address and a salted, hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Trip data you enter — country, entry date and exit date for each trip you log, plus (if you use the UK Statutory Residence Test tool) the number of UK ties you select and whether you are a UK leaver. This data is used only to compute your day counts and forecast thresholds.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and standard server access logs.
The free calculator pages (Schengen 90/180, UK SRT, US substantial presence) run entirely in your browser and do not require an account or send your trip dates to our servers. The tracker at /app also works without an account: trips you log there are stored only in your own browser's local storage and are never sent to us. They reach our servers only if you choose to back them up by creating an account, at which point any trips already in that browser are copied into your account.
We do not collect special-category data or data about anyone other than the account holder. We never see or store your card details. If you subscribe to Staymark Premium, payment is taken by Stripe acting as our payment processor: you enter your card on Stripe's own hosted checkout page, and Stripe returns to us only your email address, a customer and subscription reference, the plan you chose, its renewal date, and whether each payment succeeded or failed. We use that solely to switch your premium features on and off and to send you a receipt or a payment-failure notice. Stripe processes your card data under its own privacy policy.
4. How we use your personal data
- To provide the day-counting, forecasting, and CSV-export features you use the app for.
- To take subscription payments for Staymark Premium, apply your entitlement, and send you receipts and payment-failure notices.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To respond to support enquiries sent to us directly.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, accounting, and tax obligations.
5. Legal basis for processing
- Contract — to provide the tracking service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure the app and respond to enquiries.
- Legal obligation — to retain accounting/tax records as required by UK law.
6. Third parties we share data with
We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers. The tracker shows partner offers (an eSIM provider and a travel insurer) through Travelpayouts affiliate links: clicking one opens the partner's site with our affiliate code in the link, and no trip data or personal data is sent with it. Data may be processed by:
- Hetzner Cloud — hosting of our servers.
- Stripe — payment processing for Staymark Premium. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Amazon Web Services (SES) — sending your receipt and payment-failure emails.
- App marketplace operators (Apple App Store, Google Play) as required to distribute the app, per their own privacy terms.
7. International transfers
Our servers are hosted in the EU. Where a service provider operates outside the UK, any transfer relies on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or another approved transfer mechanism.
8. How long we keep your data
- Account and trip data — retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
- Server logs — 30 days.
- Billing records — retained for six years after the end of the relevant financial year, as UK accounting and tax law requires. Deleting your account does not delete these.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your data, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. To exercise any of these rights, or to request account deletion, email andy@andygannon.co.uk. We aim to respond within one calendar month.
10. Cookies and tracking
Staymark uses only the essential session cookie required to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies or trackers. We measure page visits with a self-hosted, cookie-free analytics instance running on our own infrastructure; nothing is shared with any third party.
11. Data security
We apply TLS-everywhere, salted password hashing, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a personal-data breach we will notify the ICO and any affected individuals within the timeframes required by UK law.
12. Children's data
Staymark is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. Not tax, legal or immigration advice
Staymark counts days and applies published thresholds. It is not tax, legal or immigration advice — confirm your position with a qualified professional.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
